Why is this so difficult

Wed- 26 miles- Queer Ride
Thur- 36 miles- Thurs Night SR
Friday-26.7 miles- Random Ride to Rocket
Sat- 51.2 miles- Ride to Andice
Sun- 0 miles- Rested and Complained about Pain
Mon- 3 miles- Ride to Get the Car

I wondered out-loud lats night why it has been so hard for me to bike anywhere anymore. Is it my back hurting or am I just getting worse at cycling or maybe I'm not eating properly? For some reason, the 50 mile ride on Saturday was extremely difficult and I couldn't figure out why.

Yesterday, my bf kindly explained that it was very cold outside, pouring down rain, I was in a bad mood, didn't eat breakfast and had cycled long rides leading up to that ride. If you put all of those factors together, it's a big deal that I actually finished that ride in one piece.

Yes, it was very cold and raining and my stupid self didn't eat a full breakfast. Eating breakfast on a ride that starts at 8am is probably the most important thing. Also, eating and drinking water as much as possible to provide energy (which I didn't do either). I wasn't prepared, I just thought I would show up and ride it and didn't consider how much I would suffer from not being prepared.

It was an emotional 50 mile ride for me, because the week prior just wasn't good at all. Every thing was against me, I was against myself too. I felt very out of place and pretty much cried the entire second half (good thing I was by myself pretty much the entire way back).

I called in to work on the Thursday before the long ride, (for personal reasons), and didn't go to work until today, (Tuesday). I guess weeks like this happen, and I should consider all the factors involved and just keep on trying. I have considered giving up because I woke up one day and started sucking at riding a bike, but I will blame all of this on the weather and just wait for Spring to show up.

Wednesday Night Queer Ride

On Wednesday, rode bikes with "Queer Ride" social ride and at the park stop rode back home. I did about 23 miles, not too bad for it raining and being cold!

I have a 100 mile bike ride for the Hill Country Ride for AIDS that I am doing with this group. It's on April 25th, and I already raised almost all of the money for it!

I am going to be training a lot, so not blogging as much.

Thanks for reading! I didnt take any pictures :/

Apple Cider Vinegar Drink MISTAKE!! EEEW!!

This is the drink I was telling you about, Dad.

For anybody reading this that doesn't know, I basically poured WAY too much ACV in a blender and made this smoothie, and it was horrid. Everybody in the office was like "Eeeew what smells like vinegar!!??". I heard a coworker say that he drinks it right out of the bottle, so I took that too literally and poured a whole bunch in.

It was kale, green apples, bananas, lemons, ACV, and I don't remember what else it has hahahaaha

Lesson learned, I will drink ACV as a shot, mixed with honey and maybe lemons and carrot juice or something, but NEVER put it in a smoothie that I want to drink for a meal replacement. That's a waste of food!!!

Saturday and Sunday

Hey Mrs. Furman! I know you read this, so this is to you!

And hey Dad if you're reading this too! and Sammi!

This weekend it was really really nice outside. I rode the mountain bike and John rode the BMX.

We did a little ride to Flavor Vapor, got some high tech new e-ciggs, then rode to Verts to eat these gyro kebab things off of Anderson. Great food. We met up with a coworker of mine named Sarah, who then took us to Terra Toys. Lots of things there that would make any child or adult go crazy. So many things I want there. Like a more mild version of Toy Joy. After that, we rode to Pinballz arcade off of Burnet and 183. It was SO nice outside! I had lots of fun.

Sunday, we rode bikes to Planet K to look for spray paint for this bike project that John's working on, then to Torchy's tacos. Ohhhh man I could eat that every single day. Then we rode to a social ride called Bike Curious. Altogther, did about 33 that day.

I finally had about a 60 mile week finally. I LOVE it when it's warm outside!! I am so much happier already because of it!!!

Excuse my crappy camera on my phone!!!
Couldn't get a good picture, but that's the machine from Big!!!

Sarah on the Batman game

John!

30 watts!!!!

I really realllllly like this thing

Smoothie John made- lots of veggies I think and other good stuff. (For Dad, he was asking about these smoothies)

Hamstring Drama

Last night I biked about 25 miles from north to way south. I definitely hurt my thigh from riding the mountain bike and sure do hope this heals soon. I couldn't even sit down on a chair last night, because the pinching feeling was so strong and painful.

Other than that, it was quite a successful night. I dressed very warm and John helped me put plastic bags on my shoes, which made my feet REALLY WARM.

Me and Anthony met up with the group at a coffee shop called Radio. Then we rode back to downtown then to the apartment. I was SO cold.

Well, going to stay positive and try to venture outside more. It's warmer outside, but my stupid leg is in shock right now or something and I don't want to push it. I'll take a little break and hopefully be up and pedaling for the Saturday ride.

I wish it was summer!!! I miss swimming and BBQ'ing and wearing tank tops and flippie floppies and hanging out with my lil sister running/rollerblading/biking/whatever around my Grandparen'ts neighborhood. I really really miss feeling like it's summertime and nothing matters but having fun.

Only a few months away! Love you, Sammi :-)

Laura- I miss you too. You should visit me here in Austin so we can go kayaking or something crazy like iFly or have a picnic on the greenbelt. I dunno!! Something!! I wanna be smothered in sunscreen and lip gloss. Ughhh I miss all the adventures!

Sunday night social ride

I rode about 20 miles on a mountain bike. I may have injured my back but not sure if that's what caused it. I haven't been riding much, so riding a bike that I didn't sit down for half of the distance probably didn't help much.

I'm doing well and trying to get through this horrible weather. For the weather being so crappy, I'm pretty happy. I just hope my back feels better tomorrow!!

And here's Jack in his cute Ted beanie! That was taken at the end spot for Bike Curious. I think we went to a restaurant called Haymaker.

Met at Ozone

Nice 11 mile bike ride. Met John at the halfway point and rode back home with him. I need to ride more but it is sooooo cold!!!
